PROCIDA, the quintessential Mediterranean island

Procida is one of the Flegrean Islands off the coast of Naples in southern Italy. The island lies between Cape Miseno and the island of Ischia. According to an old story, the island name comes from Prochyta and the Greek verb prokeitai, meaning 'it lies forth', because of its appearance seen from the sea.

Procida is the quintessential Mediterranean paradise, an absolute vision of colourful harbourside homes and picturesque piazzas. You will lose yourself walking on the colourful Terra Murata, a walled medieval town perched staunchly on a hill, hiding the 15th-century Palazzo D’Avalos and Abbazia di San Michele, an 11th-century Benedictine abbey. Scoot down the steps to charming Marina Corricella, then unwind with a poolside cocktail at the Maresia Solarium.
